Virtual Congress

Going virtual

Dear colleagues,

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and looking at the current progress of the vaccination process it is unlikely and unrealistic to assume that our community can physically meet again in August 2021.

The 11th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences (WC11) is a congress with global outreach and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) wants to make sure that everyone around the globe who wishes to attend has full and equal access to all conference activities.

The LOC therefore decided to organize WC11 as a full virtual congress.

We understand that this decision may raise questions and therefore we set up a frequently asked questions page which you can find below. Further information and the frequently asked questions will be updated regularly.

At the moment several committees (WC11 Communication-, Sponsorship- and International Scientific Committee) are working out detailed plans to make the WC11 Virtual Congress a ground-breaking experience.

We expect to provide you with more information mid-March, 2021.

We extend our best wishes to all participants, speakers and sponsors in this complex and challenging time. We regret not having the opportunity to see each of you in person this year. However, we are looking forward to gathering virtually.

On behalf of the WC11 Local Organizing Committee,
Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Jos Kleinjans, Maastricht University
